My Mother of the Bride! She wanted a nighttime smoky eye to compliment her dark charcoal grey dress. Her lips are also not on yet, but it was Laura Mercier’s Red Chocolate lipliner w/ Bobbi Brown’s lipstick in Shimmer Bronze 💜 #carriewedsryan #loveblendnbeauty

3 of 4 of my beautiful bridesmaids earlier today! (1 was MIA lol) They don’t have lips on yet tho because they ate n drank afterwards haha…so I did lips for everyone at the very end just before pictures 💋 For LIPS i mixed Sephora’s cream lip stain in 2 Classic Beige & Infinite Rose w/ Buxom’s White Russian on top. For EYES, the Bride wanted a neutral eye w/ a pop of Mint to match her Mint trim and accessories on her bridal party. 💜 #carriewedsryan #loveblendnbeauty
My client today was absolutely stunning!! I was so blown away by her spirit that we instantly clicked and became friends. 👭
Her story: Elizabeth is a 52-year-old lifestyle model who always wore black winged eyeliner, heavy mascara and used her fingers to apply all her make-up. She hates her freckles and how tired she felt she always looked. She was looking for a new fresh look as we channeled Brooke Shields to revamp her, as she just broke up with her boyfriend. What a jerk, right?! He’s clearly missing out. 💁
Elizabeth now has not only her essential tools and must-have make-up, but she always said she felt like a brand new woman because she “really needed this!”
This is why I love what I do … she not only LOOKS beautiful but she FEELS beautiful in her own skin again!!! 👸💓

Anonymous said: What are great moisturizers for oily/combo skin?
that’s a very general question, lol … it honestly depends on what you want your skin to look like or how you want it to act. for example, do you want to control an oily t-zone? do you want to balance your skin? do you want your skin to glow? do you want it to look matte?
I also don’t know how old you are — that plays a big part. If you still have immature skin (adolescent, no more than 18), then you don’t need anything drastic. If you’re a young adult (early-to-mid 20s), then you might want to look into preventative anti-aging stuff. I’m almost 30 — anything anti-aging is straight up my alley to help keep my skin young and healthy! haha…
but if you’re just looking for drugsture, Garnier, Olay and Aveeno make some really good ones for daily use.
Anonymous said: i wrote a letter to one of my friends who i back-stab each other in high school we both been out of high school for four years. i finally got the courage to write her letter stating everything i did how much our friendship meant to me i even ask for forgiveness we saw each other had ice cream. the only thing is she ask me ''that in order to get her trust back i have to earn it'' what does this mean?
Trust isn’t easily given, especially to someone who’s trust has been broken. Speaking from experience, i truly believe in second (even third, fourth and fifth) chances, but the person has to prove to me that they’ve changed and my decision to trust them again was the right decision.
Trust must be earned, meaning you have to show her that you are a trustworthy person. Be there for her, don’t flake on her, be a true friend, don’t do stupid shit to her, etc etc, the list goes on. She needs to see that you are worth trusting after what you did to her.
I have a question though — you said you backstabbed each other. so why are you the only one who’s trust must be earned? if she screwed up too, then she needs to earn her trust with you as well. However, judging by your apology letter, it sounds like you may have been the one in the wrong — is that the case? It looks like she’s giving you a second chance, but what i want to know is whether or not you’re the only one who’s trust has been broken .. because if she screwed up too, then she owes you an equal apology and needs to earn your trust back as well. In other words, this shouldn’t be a one-sided game, the feelings must be mutual; you both have to want this friendship back.

Anonymous said: soooo the guy I'm seeing doesn't like when I wear foundation or makeup for that matter (besides my eye makeup, three cheers for banging ass cat eyes). I have super oily skin, large pores, moderate/mild acne scars depending on my time of the month. all my foundations are super full coverage (prolongwear, double wear, teint idole, studio fix), do you have any recommendations on what i can do to perfect my skin since I'm still insecure? i have on a glycolactic peel as I type -___-
It doesn’t sound like your skin is as bad as you think it is. I would learn to be comfortable in your own skin, because that’s really what’s attractive to a guy. Wearing pounds of make-up is unattractive to most men, but i happen to be dating (and have dated) a guy who doesn’t care because he knows i love make-up. he has said before that he loves me either way and still thinks i’m beautiful bare faced, hehe. THAT’S the kind of guy you should be dating, girl!
but alas, most guys really do hate make-up because it gets everywhere, they’re afraid to mess up your artwork and it just doesn’t look natural most of the time (unless you are making it look so natural he can’t tell .. in which case, props to you girl). It sounds like he really just wants to see you for you, though. Which is a great thing — that means he doesn’t care about the same insecurities you have. I would recommend a foundation that’s incredibly lightweight and non-transferable, but still buildable. Think Face & Body foundations from either MAC or MUFE or even L’Oreal’s Nude foundation. You can even go for a BB or CC cream, which tend to cover a tad bit more than tinted moisturizers and have more skincare benefits. My personal favorite right now is Philosophy’s No Reason to Hide perfecting moisturizer — it has a built-in serum that helps with texture, large pores, unevenness, overall correction, and radiance.
If you HAVE to wear an actual foundation because it’s a must for you and you can’t compromise, try something lightweight but still effective: think MUFE HD foundation, CoverFX Cream Foundation or Tarte Amazonian Clay.
You an also cocktail your perfect foundation — one of my clients’ favorite is a mix i made for her using MUFE’s Face & Body foundation and MUFE Full Cover concealer — absolutely flawless. :)

Anonymous said: Hi Rachel. I love your reviews and tutorials on youtube. I have normal skin and im looking for a moisturizer, cleanser, toner, etc., that will bring my dull skin back to life. I use MAC studio sculpt foundation or Estee Lauder double wear (either of them on occasion) and both with MAC pro longwear concealer which are amazeballs. But...Help! i still need something to give my dull skin a kick. What would you recommend? TY ♥
Moisturizer: Origins GinZing line is great for energizing. I also like Fresh’s Youth Preserve lotion (radiance one). Lately, i’ve been enjoying Philosophy’s Take a Deep Breath SPF 30. Nude also makes a nice daytime Radiance moisturizer with SPF and Bliss also makes 2 different moisturizers also great for daytime and a glow/radiance.
Cleanser: almost anything will work for you, just depends on what you’d like it to really do. i generally like cleansers that are gentle but effective, like Fresh’s Soy face cleanser, Bliss Triple Oxygen foaming cleanser (great for a boost of energy in the AM), and REN Rosa Centifolia foam cleanser are favorites of mine. Shiseido, Peter Thomas Roth, Algenist, Origins and Ren are also great brands.
Toner: I’m a huge fan of toners, but I feel like almost anything will work. My personal favorite is a filipino brand called Eskinol. I also hear Bioderma is very popular but i’ve never personally tried it. I also love Lush’s Breathe of Fresh Air and any kind of “softeners” from Fresh, Lancome or Shiseido.
If you feel like your skin is dull, i highly recommend face masks on a weekly basis. You’ll love what they do for your skin! My personal favorite for rejuvenating my skin is REN’s Glycol Lactic Renewal mask. I’m also obsessed with Glam Glow masks, they’re worth every penny. Bliss Triple Oxygen mask, Origins GinZing. and Philosophy’s Purity masks all give skin a little boost in the AM if your skin looks tired. I also like Brightening sheet masks, they’re fun to use!
I also recommend you look into a serum! They work wonders! For brightening, I suggest Ole Henriksen, Dr. Dennis Gross, Philosophy or Caudalie. I also like beauty oils — my favorites are Ole Henriksen Truth Activating Oil, Algenist Anti-Aging Repair Oil, Boscia Tsubaki Oil, REN Omega 3 Oil, and Fresh Seaberry Oil (my #1 beauty oil!) Another secret weapon? Dr. Dennis Gross Peel pads — miracle workers!!!
Good luck with your new skincare regimen! :)
